MEET OUR TEAM

Moe Ghaem-Maghami, Managing Director

Entrepreneurial experience in two startups and hands-on executive leadership positions in small (EnTouch Controls, Valere Power, Eltek AS) and large multinational firms (AT&T, Lucent, Tyco) while working/living in the US, Mexico, China, and India.

I have had the pleasure of starting EnTouch Controls (Previously Atopia Systems) in January of 2009, with two other executives of Valere and Bell Labs, developing and building Smart Thermostats and Energy Management Products. To raise the investment needed for product development, we generated over $1.4M by helping other companies to set up their infrastructure and operations in Asia (China, India, and Malaysia). This funding allowed us to raise the value of the company before receiving the seed money and “Series A” VC capital.

Al Coiffi, Chief Technology Officer​

Mr. Al Cioffi has 36 years of management and executive leadership experience in telecommunications, reliable power, reserve energy, and alternative energy industries. He started his career in 1980 at AT&T Bell Laboratories. Throughout the following years, he held numerous engineering, operations, product management, marketing, and customer advocacy roles. He has experience at large multi-nationals such as Lucent, Marconi, Eltek, and General Electric, as well as start-up and turn-around experience at Valere Power, PECO II, and Unipower. He currently works with Plug Power to advance the commercialization of hydrogen fuel cell technology in motive applications adjacent to the commercial market share Plug Power already holds.

 

Mr. Cioffi holds seven patents and has published numerous articles and conference papers. He holds a BSEE from Manhattan College, an MSEE from Polytechnic Institute of NY, and has studied business and finance at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business

K HAN

K. Han has over 25 years of experience in technology business development, sales, and management.  He has worked with many LED lighting manufacturers from overseas, Alder, Posco, Dong-Bu, and Seatech to distribute products in the U.S. including working with Energy rebate programs in many states. 

Prior experiences includes m Ark Investment company in Korea, PEF focused on corporate M&A and equity investment. The founder of Hitrax in Korea, company manufactured passive rfid readers, antennas and custom tags. The customers include Samsung SDS, LG CNS, Matrix, Marubani, HK Airport, Incheon Airport, Aiana Airline, and Korean Airline.

Member of Korean UHF allocation & technology (Ministry of Knowledge and Economy)Member of Korean RFID Business Committee (Ministry of Knowledge and Economy). Before joining IBM in 1985, Mr. Han attended Capital College Electrical Engineering Departmnet in Maryand  from 1981 to 1985. 

Marilyn Hardy

Marilyn W. Hardy began her business career in accounting with Arthur Andersen & Company in Dallas, TX after receiving her BBA in Accounting from Baylor University. Later on she went on and became a licensed CPA as well as getting her MBA from SMU COX School of Business in Dallas.

 

Ms. Hardy also spent 17 years as Director of Finance working for Berkshire Hathaway’s BNSF Railway that she finally left the company in 2020. While working at Berkshire, she was responsible for various revenue management functions including, billing, receivables, payables, and customer service.  

 

In addition to her experience at Arthur Anderson & Berkshire, she also functioned as Chief Financial Officer, for InStaff Personnel, Inc. Ms. Hardy also held multiple positions as an “Entrepreneur in Residence” for the North Texas Opportunity Fund (NTOF).  Given her entrepreneurship spirit, at the beginning of 2021, she invested in Blue Horizon Energy, Headquartered in Minnesota. She currently resides in both Texas & Minnesota.

Yan Maschke

Yan Maschke has 20+ years of experience leading strategy and execution of global cross-functional teams for Fortune 500 companies. She has specific core competencies in US/Asian business development, global supply chain management, P&L management, acquisitions &
integration, and program management. She has had extensive experience in advising and coaching numerous middle-market North American and European businesses & their employees on doing business successfully in China.


Yan has previously held positions as Managing Director at China Centric Associates, Business Unit Director at Nordson, and many executive positions at Eaton. Throughout her career, she developed & implemented global business growth strategies and global sourcing programs that
have achieved double-digit revenue and profit growth. Yan also led a business start-up in China with activities that spanned the range of business planning and modeling, site acquisition, and
construction, hiring and staffing, product launch, and production ramp.

 

Yan has resided and received her advanced education in both China & and the US. She earned a B.A. in Business Administration at Shaanxi Normal University, an M.A. in International Relations
at the University of Northern Iowa, and an M.B.A. in Supply Chain Management and Finance at Michigan State University.


Additionally, she is a PMI certified Program Management Professional (PMP), and certified through both International Coach Federation (ICF) and Mentor Coach (ICF accredited) as a Certified Executive Coach (CEC) and a Professional Certified Coach (PCC).
